Sometimes in an emergency situation, it may be necessary to move a patient rather than wait for paramedics to arrive. It is critical that anyone moving an injured or ill person can do so in a way that will avoid any further injury or harm as you get them to medical assistance.
This hands-on 7 hour course is focused on developing practical skills in patient handling techniques for first aid attendants, including hand collar applications and securing a patient on a spine board in preparation for transport to a medical facility.
Prerequisites: Minimum age for applicants is 16 years old and must hold a valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 or higher.
